When using 3rd party plugins that integrate with Systems Tool Kit (STK), it's not uncommon to encounter issues that hinder their proper functionality. Fortunately, there are several troubleshooting steps you can follow to address these problems and ensure a smooth experience.

Firstly, the following are the 3rd Party Plugins to STK.

  1. Analyzer:
    1. Since Ansys purchased Phoenix Integration who built Analyzer, this is not a 3rd Party but it’s a Plugin that needs troubleshooting.
    2. Download available in the STK download at https://support.agi.com/downloads/
    3. STK Premium Air or Space License is required.
  2. SEET:
    1. From Atmospheric Environmental Research (AER).
    2. Download available in the STK download at https://support.agi.com/downloads/
    3. STK Premium Space License is required.
  3. UPROP
    1. From REMCOM Research.
    2. Download available in the STK download at https://support.agi.com/downloads/
    3. STK Pro is Required, minimum.
  4. DSIM and RT3
    1. From VTMAK.
    2. Download available in the STK download at https://support.agi.com/downloads/
    3. STK Premium Air or Space License is required.
  5. SOLIS:
    1. Developed by ASI. This software release schedule is decoupled with STK. SOLIS version 12.4 works with STK 12.4, 12.5, 12.6 and possibly STK 12.7.
    2. Download available by request to support@agi.com, due to Export Restrictions.
    3. STK Pro + STK SOLIS Licenses are required.
  6. Scheduler
    1. Is not a plugin but 3rd Party application from Orbit Logic. Scheduler integrates with STK.
    2. Download available separately at https://support.agi.com/downloads/
    3. STK Pro + STK Scheduler Licenses are required.

Here are the troubleshooting tips.

  1. Verify the Plugin is not working:
    1. In STK, the Message Viewer will provide details on which plugins are licensed and which plugins are installed or not. This can provide you insights on problems with the Plugins
    2. In STK, Edit > Preferences, navigate to UI Plugins. UI stands for User Interface. Some of the 3rdparty plugins are UI Plugins. If you see that the troubled plugin is ‘Not Active’ and you cannot enable it, then this indicates a problem with the plugin.A screenshot of a computer

  2. Verify the Plugin Version: The first step is to check the compatibility of the plugin version with your STK installation. Normally, it is recommended to use the exact version of the plugin that matches your STK installation. However, there might be cases where a previous version of the plugin can work with the latest STK version. If you're unsure, try installing the latest plugin version that was provided with your most recent STK installation.
  3. Verify you have the proper license: In many cases, the plugin requires a specific license to run. Look at the information above to see which license is required for each plugin.
  4. Successful Installation of Plugin: Sometimes, issues can arise if the plugin installation was not successful or if certain components were not properly registered. To address this, navigate to the Control Panel on your system and select the plugin in question. Look for an option to repair or modify the plugin installation.
  5. Java Installation: (Analyzer Specific Issue): Analyzer requires Java. Java must be installed prior to the Analyzer install.
    1. Java Install: https://www.oracle.com/java/technologies/downloads/
    2. More Information about JAVA install from AGI: https://analyticalgraphics.my.salesforce-sites.com/faqs/articles/HowTo/Analyzer-installation-error-Java-needed
  6. Utilize AGPluginReg.exe: In situations where STK recognizes the presence of the plugin but encounters errors during startup or fails to start correctly, you can run a tool called AGPluginReg. This tool registers the plugin within STK and can often resolve issues related to plugin initialization. AGPluginReg.exe has proven to be a valuable troubleshooting resource for plugin integration with STK.
